Second Language Teaching Methodology
2nd Summer Session (8/6-9/8) M,W,F 4-5:50pm

The objective of the course is to familiarize the students with current trends in language teaching methodology. Second language acquisition theories and their implications for language teaching will be explored. Special attention will be paid to communicative approaches. We will discuss the role of input, grammar, affective factors, comprehension vs. production, error correction, culture, testing. Students will explore the use of new technologies in language teaching and develop their own lesson plans.
